On this occasion Mr Dandung explained the general description of PT Geoforce Indonesia, the Vision and Mission and the values of PT Geoforce Indonesia. Geosynthetics are various types of synthetic polymer materials which are specifically fabricated for use in geotechnical engineering applications which function as separators, filtration, drainage, reinforcement, surface erosion control and so on. In several applications in the field, geosynthetic materials can simultaneously function two or even more of these functions. Mr Dandung explained what MSE Wall is, the Challenges of MSE Wall and the Design Concept of MSE Wall.

One of PT Geoforce Indonesia's superior products which is explained in this general lecture is Geoforce Segmental Retaining Wall, which is a retaining wall construction consisting of a layer of compacted embankment soil with a belt reinforcement system (GI - Strip). The facing of the GSRW walls is made of precast concrete which is cast with high accuracy. The sustainability point of GSRW is that GSRW is reinforced with GI-Strip which is a material produced with a lower carbon footprint than conventional retaining wall systems using sheet piles or L - Shape and the second sustainability point is because this material does not need to be imported, so it has a carbon footprint which is lower due to a more economical logistics process.

PT Geoforce Indonesia attended KOGEI VII - PIT HATTI XXVII 2023 "BUILDING A SOLID FUTURE: Advancement in Geotechnical Engineering for Indonesia's Mega Structure and Infrastructure Development" on 9-11 November 2023 at the Bidakara Hotel, South Jakarta. On this occasion, our Geotechical Engineer Nadya Ayu Anindita had the opportunity to guide the AMM HATTI Indonesian Geotechnical Congress, and Fajar Prana had the opportunity to present a paper about the MSE Wall. The Director of PT Geoforce Indonesia also had the opportunity to give a technical session on "Using High Tenacity Polyester Yarn Material as a Sustainable and More Economical Alternative for Strengthening Segmental Retaining Walls".

PIT – HATTI XXVII 2023 is an event for communication and exchange of information for professionals engaged in the field of geotechnical construction, especially the development of the geotechnical field in the construction of infrastructure in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the aim to be achieved at PIT – HATTI XXVII is to provide an opportunity for participants to increase their knowledge about developments in new science and technology in the field of civil engineering in general and geotechnics in particular.

This PIT - HATTI XXVII activity also coincides with the implementation of the activities of the XII Indonesian Geotechnical Congress. The agenda for this congress is to listen to the accountability report of the HATTI management for the period 2019 – 2023 under the leadership of the General Chair, Prof. Ir. Widjojo Adi Prakoso, MSc, Ph.D and carried out the election of the general chairman of HATTI for the period 2023 – 2027.

“Every construction activity certainly has an impact on the environment. However, we can try to balance these environmental impacts with wise actions. "One of them is by using a Geosynthetic Technology System which has been proven to be a solution in reducing the quantity of carbon gas emissions in the construction sector," said the President Director of PT. Geoforce Indonesia Mr. Dandung Sri Harninto, S.T., M.T., as a resource person at the Civil Engineering Webinar Series Session 86 with the theme "The Big Role of Geosynthetics in Sustainable Construction" Friday, 27 October 2023. This webinar organized by SIPILPEDIA ACADEMY aims to educate the public about changes drastic climate change as a result of global warming and building public awareness to contribute to curbing the rate of climate change by making efforts to realize sustainable infrastructure development oriented towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In fact, the construction sector has a huge influence on climate change that occurs on earth. This sector contributes 23% of the air pollution that occurs on earth in the manufacture of building materials, transportation, and work processes at construction sites. In addition, the construction sector also contributes to landfill waste pollution by 50% because this sector relies heavily on fast and cheap solutions that need replacement every year or even every few months. In fact, this sector also contributes greatly to the pollution of drinking water sources by 40% during work on construction sites and the manufacture of raw materials. Therefore, Geosynthetics is present as an alternative solution in sustainable construction that cares about the safety of our beloved earth and future generations.

Geosynthetics are various types of synthetic polymer materials which are specifically fabricated for use in geotechnical engineering applications which function as separators, filtration, drainage, reinforcement, surface erosion control and so on. The Geosynthetic Technology System seeks to realize sustainable development using reduce, reuse and recycle resource use methods so that it can reduce the carbon footprint of construction. Thus, the use of Geosynthetic materials makes an extraordinary contribution to environmental safety with a minimal carbon footprint resulting in building a geotechnical structure that has the same function, stability and safety factors when compared to conventional construction methods.-
